Job summary

QinetiQ US is hiring an Associate Manufacturing Engineer in Franklin, MA to sustain and improve manufacturing processes, design work-cell layouts, and troubleshoot production issues to meet delivery targets. You will help develop and support non-routine service contracts and repair spares, covering Maritime Systems, Unmanned Robots, and Warfighter protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Electromechanical preferred).
• Proven ability to solve problems practically and logically.
• Ability to self-manage in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment with minimal oversight.
• Experience writing and editing work instructions for operators/technicians.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage concurrent projects and handle new challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Organized with good time-management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes.
• Designs work cell layouts for maximum efficiency and proper material handling.
• Advices on balancing tasks with staffing and current operations.
• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
• Applies technical knowledge to improve tooling and fixtures.
• Supports builds in an AS9100 environment to control critical features.
• Coordinates with multiple departments and contract manufacturers.
• Interacts with planning, design, and vendors to ensure efficient production.
• Estimates production times, staffing, and costs for decisions.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes.
• Develops and validates manufacturing processes and documentation.
• Prepares build documents and supports pre-production activities.
• Documents updates to manufacturing processes.
