Job summary

AstroNova is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement on the Rhode Island shop floor. You will collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to troubleshoot issues and develop reliable processes.

Responsibilities include on-floor support, documenting work instructions, designing fixtures and tooling, and participating in NPI and process validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to document processes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support across assembly and manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Develop and update work instructions, procedures, and documentation.
• Design and improve fixtures, tooling, and production aids.
• Support NPI, equipment implementation, and process validation.
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data to guide decisions.
