Job summary

First Solar seeks qualified personnel to assist in installing and qualifying systems, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and support pilot-line operations transitioning to standard production. The role emphasizes safety, English communication, and hands-on electrical/mechanical tasks on the manufacturing floor in Kentucky.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with relevant technical experience (associates preferred).

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with technical qualification options (associates or above).
• 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience preferred.
• One year of First Solar technical experience preferred.
• Six months as a Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements.
• Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Set up and maintain gauges.
• Ensure all processes run on target as per the Process Control Plan.
• Respond to SPC process control alarms and bring processes back into control.
• Conduct planned process experiments and analyze results.
• Collect data on tool performance and product performance.
• Provide training to production associates.
• Develop and update internal documentation including drawings and SOPs.
• Interface with internal teams and supplier reps to complete projects.
