Job summary

Lucid Motors in Newark, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for General Assembly to drive design-for-manufacturing, process development, and launch readiness. This onsite role partners with Design, Quality, Operations, Facilities, and Supply Chain to enable scalable production and achieve quality improvements.

Requires a bachelor’s in engineering, experience in assembly processes and PFMEA, and willingness to travel up to 40%. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
• Experience supporting manufacturing engineering activities from prototype through launch or sustaining production.
• Working knowledge of assembly processes, tooling, equipment, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, quality control plans, or dimensional-control methods.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Feasibility: review designs for General Assembly manufacturability and drive design-change recommendations.
• DFM Leadership: lead detailed Design for Manufacturing reviews and translate findings into actionable requirements.
• Process Development: define process flow, work methods, tools, and handoff criteria from concept to production.
• Launch Execution: plan prototype builds, reviews, material-flow readiness, equipment installation, and risk mitigation.
• Process Controls: maintain process documentation, work instructions, and quality plans.
• Continuous Improvement: identify lean, 5S, Kaizen, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: coordinate with Design, Quality, Operations, Facilities, Supply Chain, and suppliers.
