Lucid Motors is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, General Assembly to strengthen production readiness from concept to scalable manufacturing. You will own process development, design-for-manufacturing reviews, documentation, and cross-functional launch activities at our Newark, CA site.

The role emphasizes manufacturing feasibility, equipment readiness, and cross-functional alignment to improve quality, throughput, ergonomics, and cost. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 6 years of experience developing, validating, or launching complex assembly processes.
• 4 years of experience in an automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or comparable high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience creating process documentation, including work instructions, bills of process, PFMEAs, quality control plans, or similar manufacturing documents.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews for General Assembly programs and make recommendations that improve manufacturability, quality, ergonomics, throughput, cost, and launch readiness.
• Take assigned general assembly processes from concept through prototype builds, validation, manufacturing release, and production handoff.
• Define equipment, tooling, fixture, conveyor, and layout requirements that support safe, repeatable, and scalable production processes.
• Develop and implement dimensional-control strategies that support assembly accuracy, product quality, and process capability.
• Plan and execute manufacturing engineering launch activities, including prototype builds, installation, commissioning, issue tracking, risk mitigation, and cross-functional action-item closure.
• Create and maintain work instructions, bills of process, PFMEAs, quality control plans, and related documentation that support safe, consistent, and production-ready execution.
• Partner with Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, suppliers, and leadership to resolve manufacturing constraints and align decisions across product, process, timing, and cost requirements.
