Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for the Manufacturing Engineering group. Our team is responsible for delivering precise work instructions, advancing process automation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for translating complex engineering blueprints into clear work instructions and improving manufacturing processes using cutting‑edge technologies.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Create comprehensive work instructions from engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Implement automation and advanced technologies to enhance build efficiency.
  • Lead root‑cause corrective action (RCCA) and Lean Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Develop process improvements that lower cost, increase quality, and accelerate delivery.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Position requires minimum 1+ years of experience with a related Bachelor’s degree or a related Master’s degree.

Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Security clearance.

Experience working with Siemens Automation Framework

Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma manufacturing, concepts, and techniques

CREO/ProE experience with a focus on tool design

Experience working with electro-mechanical and/or optical assemblies

Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Security Clearance :This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedule :4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

National Pay Statement :Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $67,000 - $117,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate\'s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
