Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Lackawanna County, PA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing processes, layouts, and work instructions for assemblies and fabrication. You will drive efficiency through automation, robotics, and digital tooling, while using data to improve quality and cost performance.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 1+ year experience in fabrication, with lean six sigma exposure.

Qualifications

• BS level degree in Engineering with 1+ year of experience.
• Experience with fabrication processes is desired.
• LEAN Six Sigma methodologies are desired.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other stakeholders as products move from planning to release.
• Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications to analyze operations and develop work-instructions and production records.
• Assisting in identifying and implementing equipment, tools, and material handling systems.
• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of facilities using lean principles.
• Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist in planning manufacturing cells and layouts.
• Analyzing data to improve productivity, inventory accuracy and first-pass quality.
• Investigating issues, gathering data, and proposing corrective actions.
• Assisting in hazard prevention and training programs for production operations.

Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the Fabrication area.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other internal/external stakeholders as the product(s) move from planning to release, completion, and distribution
• Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications & tools to analyze and develop sequence of operations, work-instructions, procedures, and production record systems including inspection and test
• Assisting in the identification, procurement, and implementation of equipment, machinery, tools/fixtures, and material handling systems
• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of the production facilities and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve work-flow efficiencies throughout production and the facility
• Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of manufacturing cells & layouts throughout the facility
• Using business process applications and tools to analyze data to improve productivity including reducing cost, improving inventory accuracy and improving first pass quality to achieve on-time schedules
• Investigating issues, gathering data, and initiating corrective actions and then presenting solutions to teams and leaders within the organization
• Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics

Basic Qualifications

BS level degree or higher in Engineering Discipline with 1+ Year of Experience

Must be a US citizen

Desired Skills

Experience in fabrication processes (Weld, CNC, Paint, Laser, Forming)

Experience in LEAN Six Sigma Methodologies

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $63400.00 - $117800.00
