Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems manufactures and supports critical compressor assembly lines and tooling for defense applications in York, PA. The role focuses on developing and improving assembly processes, fixtures, and production controls while enabling safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations.

You will lead Kaizen events, support Lean initiatives, and collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Safety teams to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3–5 years of hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in mechanical assembly or rotating equipment.
• 7–10 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with 8D, A3, DMAIC problem‑solving methods.

Responsibilities

• Develops and improves compressor‑assembly processes, methods, tooling, and fixturing; supports trials and validation of updated processes.
• Provides daily technical support to compressor assembly, resolving issues with fit‑up, torque, sequence, material flow, and interfaces.
• Leads continuous improvement and cost‑reduction activities, including ergonomics and takt‑time alignment.
