Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Compressor Technician to support compressor development, prototype assembly, and manufacturing operations. This hands-on role blends technical expertise, project coordination, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support to drive successful product development.

Responsibilities include coordinating compressor builds, assisting assembly and testing, resolving technical issues, managing components and materials, and training build room operators globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in rotating equipment manufacturing and assembly.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly and troubleshooting experience.
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and train technicians.

Responsibilities

• Directs the assembly of prototype compressors and coordinates activities with test lab personnel.
• Assists with development of new component manufacturing and compressor assembly methods.
• Learns to assemble new compressors and trains build room operators.
• Maintains a safe work environment and trains personnel on safety protocols.
• Troubleshoots field failures by coordinating teardown and component analysis.
• Coordinates packaging and shipping of compressor materials domestically and internationally.
• Contributes ideas to improve design, manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and cost.
