Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Compressor Assembly to support York, PA production. You will improve compressor assembly processes, contribute to fixture design, and optimize equipment utilization while ensuring safe, cost-effective manufacturing aligned with facility goals.

You will work with cross-functional teams, leadKaizen events, and support Lean initiatives, including standardized work and takt-time alignment to meet flow-line production demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• 7–10 years acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Strong analytical skills with formal problem-solving methods (8D, A3, DMAIC).
• Experience in improving production processes and lean principles.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develops and improves compressor assembly processes, tooling and fixturing.
• Provides daily technical support; resolves issues in fit-up, torque, and flow.
• Manages capital planning and procurement for assembly equipment.
• Leads continuous improvement and cost-reduction activities.
• Reviews and approves engineering drawings via ECN process.
• Maintains and troubleshoots manufacturing support software and workflows.
• Performs work measurement and defines standard work; balances TAKT time.
• Plans facility/layout changes to meet production volume and ergonomics.
