Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems in York, PA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve our machine shop operations, including manual and CNC machining centers. You will lead tooling development, equipment planning, and facility changes to meet forecasted production while applying lean principles.

You will collaborate across Materials, Quality, Engineering, and Safety to resolve issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3–5 years hands-on manufacturing engineering.
• Alternatively, 7–10 years relevant experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Strong machining background (manual and CNC) and lean experience (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
• Experience developing standard work instructions, production controls, and capital projects.
• Ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and production controls.
• Provide hands-on support to resolve day-to-day manufacturing issues and ensure stable production.
• Lead continuous improvement focused on scrap reduction, uptime, and efficiency.
• Manage capital equipment planning, justification, and procurement.
• Plan facility changes to support forecasted production and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop Standard Work Instructions and coordinate drawing changes.
