Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer to help stand up the manufacturing operation for a new advanced hardware program. The role focuses on translating engineering intent into explorable, test-ready hardware and defining robust production processes.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize parts, tolerances, materials, and tooling, while establishing production readiness and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role (0-3, 3+, 5+ or 8+ years levels).
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional electromechanical hardware for test and deployment.
  • Provide DFMA feedback to design engineering to optimize manufacturability.
  • Define end-to-end manufacturing process flows from raw material to final assembly and test.
  • Evaluate, select, and specify manufacturing equipment to support new product lines.
  • Develop processes for assemblies with high-speed rotating components and precision electrical-mechanical interfaces.
  • Apply mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals such as tolerance stack-ups and thermal management.
  • Provide shipside/lineside support for mechanical and electrical assembly operations.
  • Generate and close NCRs addressing dimensional conformance and electrical performance.
  • Support introduction of new products with build plans, duration estimates, production schedules, and tool lists.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
