Job summary

RBC Bearings in Weaverville, NC is seeking a Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct, and support CNC machining operations. You will research production problems, establish standard requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods, and determine the best utilization of equipment, materials, and personnel.

Key duties include developing and implementing new production equipment, maintaining accurate work instructions and BOMs, driving lean improvements with Value Stream Mapping, 6S,

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Auto-Cad, Pro-E, or Solid-Works design software.
• Knowledge of CNC machine tools, programming, controls, and capabilities.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, work-holding, and fixturing methods.
• Strong understanding of lean process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to business/production unit.
• Develop, evaluate, design and improve manufacturing methods, materials and tooling.
• Analyze, plan, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Quote internal and external business opportunities.
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Apply statistical methods to evaluate and improve process capability and estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Job Function: Manufacturing Engineering | Process Improvement | Equipment Development

Job Summary: Plan, direct, and support manufacturing processes and personnel in a CNC machining environment. Research and resolve production problems, establish and implement standard requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods. Determine best utilization of equipment, material, and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Development and Implementation

• Develop and implement new production equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Ensure equipment meets production requirements and safety standards.

Documentation and Accuracy

• Maintain accurate work instructions, routings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects current processes.

Process Improvement

• Drive process improvements focused on cost reduction, quality, and safety.
• Utilize lean manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to enhance operations.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
