Job summary

RBC Bearings is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Weaverville, NC to plan, direct, and support CNC machining processes. You will develop, evaluate, and implement manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment while driving cost reduction, quality, and safety improvements.

You will lead equipment development, maintain accurate work instructions and BOMs, and apply lean tools to enhance operations. Strong CAD skills and a problem-solving mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Pro-ENGINEER, or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of CNC machine tools, programming, controls, and capabilities.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, work-holding, and fixturing methods.
• Strong lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to develop manufacturing processes and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to production units and new equipment initiatives.
• Develop, evaluate, design, and improve manufacturing methods, materials, and tooling.

• Confer with design staff to ensure efficient production methods and tooling.
• Estimate production times and related costs for management planning.

Job Function: Manufacturing Engineering | Process Improvement | Equipment Development

Job Summary: Plan, direct, and support manufacturing processes and personnel in a CNC machining environment. Research and resolve production problems, establish and implement standard requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods. Determine best utilization of equipment, material, and personnel.

Equipment Development and Implementation

• Develop and implement new production equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Ensure equipment meets production requirements and safety standards.

Documentation and Accuracy

• Maintain accurate work instructions, routings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects current processes.

Process Improvement

• Drive process improvements focused on cost reduction, quality, and safety.
• Utilize lean manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to enhance operations.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Auto-Cad, Pro-E, or Solid-Works design software, Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Project Management software.
