Job summary

Times Microwave Systems in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Production Department in the manufacture and assembly of microwave and millimeter wave coaxial cable assemblies.

The role focuses on resolving issues with components, equipment, and processes, driving cost analysis, capital equipment decisions, and ensuring adherence to quality and scheduling requirements. Strong lean, Six Sigma experience and proficiency with SolidWorks are valued.

Qualifications

• BSME or higher required.
• 5+ years' experience in cable assembly/manufacturing.
• Experience in the manufacture of raw RF cable or cable assemblies preferred.
• Experience with resistance soldering equipment preferred.
• Experience with PNA test equipment preferred.
• Lean Principles and Six Sigma experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience reading and understanding drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Creating/maintaining/reviewing/improving/troubleshooting documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
• Identifying root cause of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Implementing process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures
• Providing analysis and solutions to complex material screening and sorting issues
• Designing/developing tooling and fixtures to support production needs
• Providing training/qualification/validation for processes and equipment as required
• Ensuring compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.

UFAMANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment and processes of the manufacture and assembly of microwave and millimeter wave frequency coaxial cable assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer works in concert with Production and Operations to assure efficient manufacturing of products to meet customer scheduling and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creating/maintaining/reviewing/improving/troubleshooting documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conducting feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.

• Experience using Control Processes and Procedures including Change Management System, Nonconformance Reports, Engineering Specifications, Takt time/rate, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), and Work Instructions
• Experience using Six Sigma and/or or other problem-solving methodologies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, preferred
• Experience reading and understanding drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
