Job summary

Times Microwave Systems in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Process Engineer to support the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment and processes used in RF coaxial cable assemblies.

You will conduct DOE studies, implement control processes, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with internal standards while partnering with Production and Operations to meet schedules and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• DOE experience preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CAPA, work instructions and change management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Design of Experiments to establish baseline requirements.
• Implement control processes to confirm material compliance.
• Implement process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures.
• Identify root cause of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Create/maintain/review/improve/troubleshoot documentation relating to manufacturing and testing.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity and capability requirements.
• Provide analysis and solutions to complex material screening and sorting issues
• Design/develop tooling and fixtures to support production needs
• Provide training/qualification/validation for processes and equipment as required
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.

Summary

The Process Engineer supports the Production Department by resolving issues related to components, equipment and processes used in the manufacture of RF coaxial cable assemblies. The Process Engineer will work in concert with Production and Operations to assure efficient processes in manufacturing of products to meet customer scheduling and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct Design of Experiments where necessary to establish baseline requirements and foundational processes.
• Implement control processes to confirm material compliance.
• Implement process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures.
• Identify root cause of mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
• Create/maintain/review/improve/troubleshoot documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
• Provide analysis and solutions to complex material screening and sorting issues

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Some experience in a manufacturing environment ideal
• Previous DOE experience, preferred
• Background in materials science, preferred
• Experience with resistance soldering equipment, preferred
• Experience with PNA test equipment, preferred
• Experienced using Lean Principles and tools
• Experience using Control Processes and Procedures including Change Management System, Nonconformance Reports, Engineering Specifications, Takt time/rate, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), and Work Instructions
• Experience using Six Sigma and/or or other problem-solving methodologies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, preferred
