Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Plant EHS Manager III to lead critical safety and environmental initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment. The role requires 5–10 years of EHS experience, with 3–5 years in team leadership, and a focus on embedding EHS values into operational excellence.

You will own EHS processes, partner with multiple departments, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring OSHA, EPA, and ISO compliance across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 5-10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• 3-5 years of experience managing a team.
• Proven success influencing matrixed teams and driving cultural transformation.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO 14001/45001/9001) and behavior-based safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Ensure compliance across multiple reporting lines and units within a matrixed structure.
• Manage environmental reporting, waste characterization, and regulatory submissions.
• Lead and participate in EHS audits and risk assessments.
• Partner with Legal on regulatory and compliance topics.
• Data management with EHS information system.
• Track leading indicators such as near-misses, safety observations, and training compliance.
• Drive KPI performance.
