Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc is seeking an experienced EHS leader to drive a world-class environment, health and safety culture within manufacturing facilities. You will guide, coach, and mentor employees at all levels to improve EHS performance.

The role requires a university degree, at least six years in EHS in industrial environments, and expertise in ISO 45001/14001. You will manage EHS programs, audits, training, and incident investigations, with periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Minimum of six (6) years of EHS experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience in developing, managing, and auditing EHS management systems, including ISO 45001, 14001, COR Auditor certified.
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Return to Work programs.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of federal, provincial/state or municipal health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Foster a world-class EHS culture and mentor staff across facilities.
• Establish corporate EHS policies, procedures and best practices with regional teams.
• Implement the EHS Management System(s) across locations.
• Track EHS KPIs and publish data for stakeholders.
• Lead near-miss and incident investigations per process.
• Coach local EHS teams to implement corporate systems.
• Advise leadership on regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Support training of employees on health, safety and environment.
