Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks an experienced EHS leader to drive world-class health, safety and environmental programs across manufacturing facilities. You will guide, coach, and mentor teams while advancing EHS performance and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in safety/environmental fields, at least six years in industrial EHS, and strong knowledge of ISO 45001/14001 and workers’ compensation programs. Periodic travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Minimum of six (6) years of EHS experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience in developing, managing, and auditing EHS management systems incl. ISO 45001, 14001, COR Auditor certified.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and Return to Work programs.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, provincial/state, or municipal EHS legislation.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Proven interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Foster a world-class Health and Safety culture within manufacturing facilities.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to employees at all levels.
• Establish corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices with regional teams.
• Implement the organization’s EHS Management System(s).
• Track local EHS KPIs and publish data for stakeholders.
• Lead near-miss and incident investigations per the incident process.
• Review hazard and incident reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support education and training on health, safety, and environment practices.
