Job summary

MS Companies seeks an EH&S Specialist to support its Springfield, OH operations. You will develop and maintain environmental, health, safety, and regulatory programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local rules.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing safety, knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations, and strong training and communication skills to drive continuous safety improvements across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety or related manufacturing safety role.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing workplace safety programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train employees at all organizational levels.
• Experience conducting safety investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
• Ability to maintain safety records, documentation, and compliance reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing EH&S, security, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate new hire safety orientation and OSHA training.
• Support workers' compensation administration, claims management, and return-to-work activities.
• Monitor workplace safety performance and identify opportunities to reduce risk.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes and communicate updates to leadership.
• Partner with operations and security teams to promote a safe work environment.
