Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety or related manufacturing safety role.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing workplace safety programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train employees at all organizational levels.
• Experience conducting safety investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
• Ability to maintain safety records, documentation, and compliance reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing EH&S, security, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate new hire safety orientation and OSHA training.
• Support workers' compensation administration, claims management, and return-to-work activities.
• Monitor workplace safety performance and identify opportunities to reduce risk.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes and communicate updates to leadership.
• Partner with operations and security teams to promote a safe work environment.

MS Companies is seeking an EH&S Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in Springfield, OH. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance programs while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment and possesses strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety, workers' compensation, and environmental compliance. This individual will work cross-functionally to promote a safe workplace, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement in EH&S programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing environmental, health, safety, security, and regulatory compliance programs
