Spectra-Tech Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Documentation Specialist to coordinate and maintain all manufacturing documentation.

This role ensures BOM integrity, Gerber and assembly drawings, and related instructions are accurate and compliant with IPC, ISO, and customer requirements. The candidate will manage ECNs, collaborate across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teams, and support audits.

Qualifications

  • Experience with BOM management and document control.
  • Proficiency in IPC, ISO, RoHS compliance.
  • ERP and CAD tools experience (SAP B1, AutoCAD, GC Prevue, Factory Logix).

Responsibilities

  • Control product docs: BOMs, Gerber files, assembly drawings, work and test instructions.
  • Create and maintain doc using data integration software; assign part numbers; draft assembly drawings; generate machine data from CAD.
  • Coordinate ECN and document change processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing and program management to keep docs accurate and compliant.
  • Organize new product kickoff meetings with process engineering, manufacturing leadership, and program management.
  • Prioritize workload and release docs to align with production schedules.
  • Ensure IPC/ISO compliance and customer-specific documentation.
  • Support audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Contribute to improvement of doc control processes and systems.
  • Provide training on documentation practices as needed.

Reports To: Documentation Manager

Salary Range: $50,000 to $72,000 based upon experience.
Hours: M-Th 6:30am – 4:15pm, Fri 8:00am – 12:00pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Documentation Control Specialist with experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. This role is responsible for coordinating and maintaining documentation that supports all manufacturing processes, including document control, product data management, and compliance with company and industry standards (IPC, ISO, etc.). The ideal candidate will have proven experience in bill of materials (BOM) management, document control, and the creation of manufacturing assembly drawings, as well as managing engineering changes. Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment are essential.

  • Control internal and external product documentation including BOM’s, Gerber Files, Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions, and Test Instructions.
  • Create and maintain product- and revision-specific documentation for all manufacturing processes using data integration software, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Responsibilities include assigning internal component numbers, drafting assembly drawings for manufacturing, and generating machine programming data from CAD files.
  • Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Document Change processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure documentation remains accurate, up to date, and compliant with industry, company, and customer requirements.
  • Organize new product kickoff meetings with process engineering, manufacturing leadership, and program management to review overall manufacturing processes.
  • Prioritize workload and manage product documentation releases to align with production build schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (IPC, ISO, etc.) and customer-specific documentation requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
  • Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of document control processes and systems.
  • Provide training and guidance on documentation practices as needed.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of Circuit Board design including reading component values, polarity, etc.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC, RoHS, and other industry-specific compliance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).
  • Familiar with CAD file management and assembly drawing software, including AutoCAD, GC Prevue, and similar tools, to support accurate design documentation and workflow.
  • Experience working with data integration software (Aegis Factory Logix preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Education: Associates degree in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent work experience may also be considered.

Experience: Five years of experience in a documentation or product data role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
