Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Industrial Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related majors
  • Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Texas at Arlington during the co‑op
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts, tools, processes, and 3D modeling
  • Available to work 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 7:00 am–4:00 pm) January 2027–May 2027 or August 2027
  • Must be within 50 miles of Grand Prairie, TX; no housing or relocation support
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Structured experiential learning program with ongoing enrollment required

Responsibilities

  • Designing tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids to improve safety, quality, productivity, and ergonomics
  • Create 3D CAD models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and production challenges for practical solutions
  • Develop and assess design concepts considering manufacturing, safety, quality, and ergonomic factors
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, and other stakeholders
  • Support design reviews, prototyping, testing, and validation of manufacturing solutions
  • Implement and validate tooling/fixtures on the production floor
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement methods to enhance processes and productivity
  • Document designs and changes per Siemens standards
