Siemens Mobility in Grand Prairie, TX seeks a Spring 2027 Automation Engineer Co-op as part of the Operations Leadership Development Program within Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products. You will assist designing and validating automation solutions, and work with cross‑functional teams to improve manufacturing capacity.

The internship is 40 hours per week, January 2027 to May 2027 or August 2027, with potential for a future rotational program and entry‑level roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master's in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields.
• Must be enrolled as a student at UT Arlington during the co-op.
• Proficiency in Excel and Office for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Basic knowledge of systems engineering concepts.
• Available to work 40 hours/week Jan 2027–May 2027 or Aug 2027.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Structured experiential learning program for ongoing studies.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design and implementation of automation solutions to improve capacity and material flow.
• Developing and validating automation solutions, architectures, and processes.
• Integrating automation technologies with factory equipment and OT systems.
• Configuring and testing automation systems to validate functionality and routes.
• Collaborating with manufacturers, system integrators, and cross-functional teams.
• Documenting system architectures, requirements, and implementation steps.
• Troubleshooting issues and supporting deployment and commissioning.
