Emerson is seeking a co-op engineering student to support manufacturing initiatives and help design tooling and fixtures. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, exposure to SolidWorks CAD, and collaboration across departments, with opportunities for mentorship and professional development in a structured co-op program.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in engineering or a closely related field.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills and curiosity to understand how things work.

Responsibilities

• Support and promote a strong safety culture.
• Troubleshoot issues with root cause analysis to identify sources and provide corrective solutions.
• Collaborate within the team and across departments on projects from inception to completion.
• Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, and facilities equipment utilizing SolidWorks.
• Identify and facilitate implementation of process improvements.
• Determine specifications and initiate purchase of materials and components.
• Develop best practices and procedures; communicate these through Visual Workplace, training, and area meetings.
• Coordinate and communicate with all levels of the organization through presentations.
