Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern for May/June through August/September 2027 in Phoenix, AZ. You’ll support process improvements, data analytics, and SPC trend monitoring to aid decision-making.

Responsibilities include data interpretation, dashboards, and collaboration with the team to drive product/process enhancements. Requires engineering student with 3.1 GPA and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline as a rising junior or senior.
• GPA 3.1 minimum; transcripts may be requested.
• Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts.
• Proficient with MS Office; Power BI bonus.
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y, etc.).
• Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management.
• Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and operational efficiency
• Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
• Participate in team meetings to contribute to product and process improvement initiatives
• Interpret, analyze, and summarize large datasets to support decision-making
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities beyond predefined KPIs
• Conduct statistical data analysis and create clear charts, dashboards, and reports
• Analyze equipment performance and utilization to support continuous improvement
• Monitor and analyze SPC trends and product yield data
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of analysis, findings, and process changes

Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, mathematics, physics
