Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support process improvements, performance monitoring, and data analytics in our Phoenix, AZ operations. The ideal candidate is an engineering student with strong statistics, data analysis, and communication skills, capable of contributing both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical discipline as a rising junior or senior.
  • GPA of 3.1 or higher; transcripts may be requested.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y, etc.).
  • Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management.
  • Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency.

  • Monitor and analyze SPC trends and product yield data.
  • Maintain clear documentation of analysis, findings, and process changes.

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Manufacturing Engineering Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to the Manufacturing Engineering team. In this hands‑on role, you'll support manufacturing process improvements, performance monitoring, and data analytics.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and operational efficiency

  • Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identify and implement process improvements

  • Participate in team meetings to contribute to product and process improvement initiatives

  • Interpret, analyze, and summarize large datasets to support decision-making

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities beyond predefined KPIs

  • Conduct statistical data analysis and create clear charts, dashboards, and reports

  • Analyze equipment performance and utilization to support continuous improvement

  • Monitor and analyze SPC trends and product yield data

  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation of analysis, findings, and process changes


Required Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline as a rising junior or senior

  • A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process

  • Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (bonus for Power BI)

  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis etc.

  • Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management

  • Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab or similar software)

  • Self-starter with the ability to proactively collaborate with teams outside of the immediate group to find solutions

  • Ability to translate technical and analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
