Aston Carter is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Johnson Creek, WI. The role focuses on accurate journal entries, cost analyses, and adherence to GAAP and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical capabilities for cost and financial reporting.
• Minimum 2–3 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in cost accounting, accounting and reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of general ledger and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate journal entries, reconciliations and schedules.
• Assist month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting.
• Prepare detailed financial and operational reports for management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting and monitor variances.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal accounting policies.
• Analyze and monitor production, labor, material and overhead costs.
• Investigate PPV variances and root causes.
• Prepare and maintain standard costs and conduct variance analysis.
• Identify cost trends and opportunities for savings.
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
