Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Staff Accountant in Hillsboro, OR to analyze production costs, monitor inventory, and support cross-functional teams in optimizing manufacturing processes. The role emphasizes cost and operational accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Key duties include month-end close, journal entries, cost variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to improve cost efficiency. This on-site contract-to-hire role offers long-term growth in a manufacturing finance

Qualifications

3+ years of manufacturing-operational accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting and variance analysis.
Proficient Excel and ERP system experience (QAD/Oracle Hyperion preferred).

Responsibilities

Participate in the month-end close process and ensure transactions are recorded and reconciled.
Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Conduct detailed cost analysis of production including direct materials, labor, and overhead.
Supervise and monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies to minimize waste.
Prepare and present reports on manufacturing costs with insights for senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, controls, and regulatory requirements.
