Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an experienced Accountant for a contract-to-hire role in Tualatin, OR. The position oversees full accounting operations for a U.S.-based manufacturing organization, including cost accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.

You will partner with manufacturing and operations to improve processes and controls while supporting ERP enhancements. The role requires manufacturing accounting experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to manage intercompany

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or related field.
• 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with journal entries, month-end closing, reconciliations, and basic cost accounting.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Must have experience working for a manufacturing company.
• Intermediate Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) and ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations including AP/AR, GL, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and adjusting entries.
• Oversee banking activities and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, policies, and industry-specific requirements.
• Maintain documented financial records to support audits.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide documentation as needed.
• Oversee cost accounting activities including standard costing and variance analysis.
• Review manufacturing KPIs such as yield, scrap, cycle time, overhead absorption.
• Collaborate with operations to provide cost insights and product margin analysis.
• Implement process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.
• Support ERP enhancements, integrations, and finance/process digitization.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across finance and manufacturing.
