Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment using diagnostic tools and PLC software
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Mitsubishi and Rockwell, including safety PLCs such as GuardLogix, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix
  • Experience with HMI, vision inspection, robotics, and motion control systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to maintenance, manufacturing, and operations teams as needed.
  • Address daily manufacturing and equipment issues and implement corrective actions to support production continuity.
  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Troubleshoot machine stoppages and support root cause analysis for manufacturing and equipment-related issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using a variety of control platforms, including PLCs, CNC systems, PC-based controls, vision systems, robotics, and motion systems.
  • Create and update electrical schematics, component bills of material, and equipment documentation in AutoCAD for legacy and modified equipment.
  • Develop equipment specifications and work with vendors to obtain quotes for automated and manual equipment solutions.
  • Review equipment quotes and participate in design reviews for custom assembly and manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and equipment reliability.
  • Participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, machine risk assessments, and CTQ activities.
  • Support equipment specification development, supplier selection, and supplier qualification activities.
  • Participate in equipment validation, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate activities across cross-functional teams within and outside of operations.
  • Travel up to 5 percent domestically to manufacturing sites and supplier locations.
