Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Manufacturing Controls Engineer II to support both manufacturing and controls engineering activities, improving equipment performance, manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability in a hybrid work environment. The role involves hands-on support for production equipment and automation projects across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

The successful candidate will have a background in electrical controls, PLC platforms, and equipment

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
Experience with PLC platforms such as Mitsubishi and Rockwell; safety PLCs like GuardLogix/ControlLogix.
Experience with HMI, vision inspection, robotics, and motion control systems.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to maintenance, manufacturing, and operations teams.
Address daily manufacturing and equipment issues and implement corrective actions for production continuity.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
Troubleshoot equipment using PLCs, CNCs, PC-based controls, vision systems, robotics, and motion systems.
Develop equipment specifications and work with vendors to obtain quotes.
