Job summary

JSI Store Fixtures, Inc. in Bangor, ME is seeking a Buyer to support procurement for our manufacturing operations.

The role focuses on sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely, cost-effective deliveries across our multi-plant environment. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing procurement experience, strong analytic and negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with operations, accounting, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of production planning and procurement in manufacturing.
• Procurement or buying experience, preferably multi-plant.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and independence.
• Proficient in ERP for purchasing and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to negotiate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process and issue purchase orders, change orders, and related documentation.
• Prepare RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs; evaluate responses.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Support invoice reconciliation and payment processes.
• Coordinate product deliveries and resolve shipping/logistics issues.
• Maintain ERP records for purchasing and inventory.
• Monitor supplier performance and communicate between departments.
• Assist with inventory data collection and material planning.
• Prepare procurement reports and spend analysis.
• Conduct price checks and supplier evaluations.
• Perform other duties as needed
