Job summary

Amgen's Rhode Island facility is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join the Automation Engineering team. You will support complex process automation initiatives, focusing on DeltaV systems, and provide project leadership across manufacturing, process engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance.

The role requires problem solving, lifecycle management, and on-call support, with opportunities for growth within a global biotech leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED with 6 years of automation/engineering experience OR
• Associate's degree with 4 years automation/engineering experience OR
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• 1+ years experience in Process Automation Engineering in a manufacturing support environment
• Experience with DeltaV DCS systems
• Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP, and validation
• Experience with Mammalian Cell Culture, Protein Purification, Clean Utilities, CIP, SIP, Production Services and non-GMP Utilities preferred
• Experience with Tech Transfer, Process Design, and Commissioning
• Experience with validation and change control methodology

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to process control and automation infrastructure
• Collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering, utilities, maintenance, QA, and validation
• Support root cause analysis and investigations on control system issues
• Assist with new product introductions and technology upgrades
• Develop and present results for operational issues and projects
• Support commissioning and qualification of capital projects
• Provide on-call 24x7 support for automation systems
• Apply automation principles across design, build, startup and validation
