Job summary

Sheridan is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for Finishing/Bindery on the nighttime shift (7p–7a) with full-time hours and overtime opportunities. You’ll be trained to run high-speed bindery equipment and help ensure the quality of books, catalogs, and printed materials reach production standards.

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. You should be comfortable reading instructions, performing basic math, and working safely in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• Feed books/signatures into machines and inspect output.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and work orders.
• High school diploma or GED or 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
• Willingness to be trained on finishing/bindery equipment.
• Basic math skills for measurements.

Responsibilities

• Pack books into cartons and move materials safely.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
