Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery on the nighttime shift (7p–7a) in Akron, OH. No bindery experience needed; training provided to operate high-speed bindery equipment.

You will handle feeding, packing, and basic hand operations, while supporting a fast-paced, team-driven production floor with a focus on safety and quality. Overtime opportunities are available as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades)
• High school Diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders and safety rules
• Basic math skills and use of measuring devices
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Mechanical inclination and comfort with basic tools
• Read and follow job instructions and measurements
• Pride in delivering quality work
• Reliable team player

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
