Job summary

DeWys Manufacturing is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting across DeWys Metal Solutions and related businesses. You will own the financial close, accounting operations, and internal controls, partnering with leaders to drive sound decisions.

The role demands hands-on leadership, process improvement, and the ability to explain results clearly. You will mentor the accounting team and collaborate with operations, purchasing, and sales to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience including financial reporting and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across the DeWys businesses, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is accurate.
• Own the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, GL activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and reporting issues.
• Lead accounting prep for external audits, tax activities, and other reporting with Director of Finance and outside advisors.
• Establish clear accounting procedures and ensure they are followed across the organization.
• Own accuracy of inventory accounting, product costing, standard costs, and manufacturing variance reporting.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs; work with Operations to understand variances and address issues.
• Oversee inventory controls and physical inventories; ensure data is complete and reliable.
• Develop reports and dashboards to help leaders understand results and drive decisions.
• Strengthen accounting controls, policies, and procedures; guide ERP and financial system development.
• Direct, coach, and develop the accounting team; ensure cross-training and accountability.
