Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman for the Akron, OH region. This on-site role leads a 2-5 person crew to prune and remove trees for major utilities while upholding safety standards. CDL is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Experience in line clearance or related tree work is valued, with industry certifications welcomed. Salary is hourly, with benefits starting on day one, and a strong emphasis on training and career growth within

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major utilities, safely and skillfully.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and task execution.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Ensure safety and compliance with industry guidelines.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Greater Akron, Ohio region.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal

• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects

• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines

• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks

• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

• Required: valid driver’s license

• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain

• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work

• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
