Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer with CDL eligibility and climbing experience for the Kinsman, OH region. The role involves pruning, removal, and safe operation of equipment as part of a utility line clearance team.

We value outdoor enthusiasts who can complete Davey orientation and safety courses on hire. CDL holders or applicants with line clearance experience are preferred for advancement and compensation potential.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A/B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Arborist®, ISA Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Safety Professional® certifications.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees near lines, roofs, and structures.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines and other objects.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Kinsman, OH region.

Job Duties

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
