Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Akron, OH, is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman/Foreperson with CDL holder and climbing experience preferred to service the Greater Akron region.

You will lead a 2-5 person crew performing tree pruning and removal for major electric utilities, ensure safety, and mentor newer employees while handling equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person crew in pruning and removal for electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply industry pruning guidelines and perform job-site inspections.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Greater Akron, Ohio region.

Job Duties

Lead a2-5 person treecrew inperforming all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully formajor electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application oftree identificationknowledgeand industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-siteinspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Additional Information

What We Offer:

• Hourly rate range $25.33-27.58 based upon experience in line clearance/industry, climbing, and/or a CDL holder.
