A highly respected engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Managing Engineer to play a key leadership role across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong and commercially aware professional who enjoys leading teams, developing client relationships, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of engineering projects from planning and design through to execution and completion.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating engineers, technical specialists, support staff, and external consultants.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation, specifications, contracts, and project deliverables.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Support proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimates, staffing plans, and project programmes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships throughout project lifecycles.
  • Represent the organisation during client meetings, presentations, interviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Contribute to business growth initiatives by identifying opportunities and supporting new work pursuits.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance support to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and help introduce innovative approaches and best practices.
Skills & Experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant engineering experience within consulting, infrastructure, transportation, environmental, structural, water, or civil engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing engineering projects, teams, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Experience producing construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Strong commercial awareness with exposure to business development and proposal preparation.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard engineering and project delivery software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence with project and client management responsibilities.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a passion for mentoring and team development.
  • Active involvement in professional organisations, industry groups, or community initiatives is highly valued.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary of $135,000 to $198,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
