Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet client specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and acting as the main point of contact throughout each project lifecycle.
- Site Visits and Inspections: Travel to client sites across the country to oversee project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality standards are upheld.
- Resource and Team Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, allocating resources effectively and ensuring team alignment with project goals and deadlines.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to optimize engineering processes, increasing efficiency and reducing costs without compromising quality.
- Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and providing regular updates to stakeholders on cost management and project status.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for each project, including progress reports, risk assessments, and final project summaries.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical expertise and mentorship to team members, assisting in complex problem-solving and technical decision-making.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all engineering projects comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field). Masters degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience in client-facing roles is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project lifecycle management, and resource planning.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a proactive approach to project management and problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and team collaboration effectively.
- High adaptability, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel frequently to client sites nationwide, with the ability to manage work remotely when not on-site.
