Job summary

J.S. Held LLC in Houston is seeking a Managing Director to oversee all phases of engagements, from client meetings to reports and financial analyses. You will lead staff and supervise Ocean Tomo, serving as the lead relationship owner and testifier for high-stakes matters.

The role demands executive-level interaction with clients, counsel, shareholders, lenders, and other stakeholders; you will drive business development, craft go-to-market strategies, and ensure top-quality work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in finance, accounting, business or economics from a highly regarded program
• 10+ years of litigation consulting or intellectual property valuation experience
• CPA/CFA preferred
• Testimony experience (preferred) or full case management of a testifying expert
• Demonstrated success in maintaining business relationships with key decision makers
• Superior interpersonal and project management skills
• Capable of delivering high quality work product
• Established reputation for high-level professional expertise
• Attention to detail and quality control
• Results driven, persuasive and persistent
• High degree of professionalism, integrity and flexibility
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including meetings with clients and counsel

Responsibilities

• Lead operational turnaround management and financial restructuring engagements
• Provide expertise in investment banking, valuation, litigation support, and asset disposition for clients
• Manage and lead teams of JS Held personnel
• Lead interaction with client teams, shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Work under stress in crisis situations with tight deadlines
• Produce deliverables
• Develop business opportunities with legal, lending, and investor communities
• Collaborate to develop go-to-market strategies for revenue growth
• Provide support in ad-hoc tasks as requested
• Oversee and review staff work on engagements
• Provide thought leadership to assist in business development
