Job summary

J.S. Held’s Strategic Advisory Group seeks a Managing Director to join an experienced team and lead initiatives during high-stakes crises.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in operational turnarounds and financial restructurings, including bankruptcy contexts, and can direct multi-disciplinary teams while engaging lenders, creditors, and investors. Travel to client sites is expected; we value strategic thinking and execution under pressure.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in turnaround and restructuring leadership with BD experience.
• Ability to cross-sell JS Held expertise to referral sources.
• Delegate and lead multiple projects while mentoring staff.
• Bachelor’s degree; JD or MBA a plus.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Experience leading in chaotic, high-pressure environments.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy matters is essential.
• Willingness to travel to clients, sometimes extensively.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational turnaround management and financial restructuring engagements.
• Provide expertise in investment banking, valuation, litigation support and asset disposition.
• Manage and lead teams of JS Held personnel.
• Lead interaction with client teams, shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously; work under stress with tight deadlines.
• Develop revenue opportunities through market development and referrals.
