J.S. Held in Los Angeles seeks a Managing Director for its Strategic Advisory Group. This role requires steering high-stakes turnarounds, overseeing restructurings, and leading cross‑functional teams through crisis with integrity and precision.

The candidate will guide engagements, interact with lenders and investors, and shape go‑to‑market strategies to grow revenue while delivering practical, tactical solutions in demanding situations.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in the turnaround and restructuring marketplace with leadership experience.
• Ability to cross-sell JS Held services to existing and new referral sources.
• Ability to delegate, lead multiple projects, and mentor staff.
• Bachelor’s degree; JD or MBA are a plus.
• Strong organization and attention to detail; thrives in chaotic environments.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy and related processes; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational turnaround management and financial restructurings.
• Provide leadership in investment banking, valuation, and asset disposition roles.
• Manage and mentor teams across engagements.
• Interact with clients, shareholders, lenders, and stakeholders.
• Drive multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Develop go-to-market strategies to generate revenue opportunities.
• Support ad-hoc tasks as requested.
