Job summary

Barings is seeking a Managing Director to lead Product Strategy & Management, responsible for the end-to-end product agenda across public and private asset classes. The role reports to the COO and drives capital-efficient product platforms with dedicated verticals and regional coverage.

You will set multi-year roadmaps, own fund launches end-to-end, and lead pricing and governance across global platforms, coordinating with Investments, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.

Qualifications

• University degree required; MBA, CFA or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
• 15+ years of asset management experience with a substantial track record in product management, strategy or related function.
• Breadth across public and private markets; credit depth is a strong advantage.
• Experience leading fund and vehicle launches through institutional governance processes in US and European structures.
• Strong commercial judgment on fee/pricing, profitability and rationalization decisions.
• Experience serving institutional, insurance and wealth channels; familiarity with general account and insurance solutions preferred.
• Track record of building, leading, and developing global teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set the multi-year product roadmap across public and private markets aligned to firm growth strategy.
• Own end-to-end fund launches from proposal through governance approval to go-live.
• Oversee pricing, benchmarking, and governance for new launches and large mandates.
• Lead governance engagement and build partnerships with Investments, Global Client Group, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Operations.
