Job summary

Barings LLC in Charlotte seeks an Associate Director to lead Product Development for US Wealth Private Assets. You will oversee the lifecycle of private asset investment products, driving market research, strategy, and collaboration across Legal, Compliance, Sales, Operations and Investment teams.

You will draft proposals, term sheets, and investor materials, coordinate fund launches, and work with external providers to ensure successful product delivery within Barings’ governance framework.

Qualifications

• +5 years’ experience with practical and detailed knowledge of working with Private Asset US Wealth Funds including distribution, product structures and understanding of external positioning.
• Solid understanding and hands on experience with US 40 Act, BDC, US Private Funds range product strategy, development and management.
• Clear communicator.
• Highly organised, numerate with strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Preferred CFA or other equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• The Product Development – Specialists role is the internal representative of our Private Asset investment teams, responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining investment products, through their entire lifecycle.
• Coordinate on new product proposals and proactive market research.
• Support product strategy, development and ongoing management for Private / Alternative asset classes into the Wealth market.
• Collaborate with Client Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance, Sales, Operations, Investment, Finance and Risk teams and external providers.
• Draft investment product proposals, term sheets, and investor‑facing materials; assist with outputs on product development/innovation.
• Coordinate Private Assets into Wealth products, in partnership with stakeholders, and communicate with relevant teams.
• Lead product launches through Barings governance and socialise outcomes across stakeholders.
