Job summary

Mercy in Missouri seeks a skilled RN Perioperative leader to plan, direct, and optimize the Surgery Center’s operations. You will manage multiple functional areas, oversee quality control, and guide budgeting and reporting to improve patient care and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 5 years periop RN experience and 3 years in a leadership role, with BSN preferred, plus strong communication and coaching skills to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• RN license in the state of practice.
• 5 years RN periop experience required.
• 3 years nursing leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and control Surgery Center activities.
• Direct operations of multiple functioning areas.
• Develop and implement departmental operating budget.
• Direct a multidisciplinary team.
• Direct quality control procedures and program development.
• Provide reports and proposals with clear writing.
• Coach and counsel staff to resolve conflicts.

Overview

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities of the Surgery Center. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Education: BSN preferred. Licensure: Nursing License in the state of practice. Experience: 5 years RN Periop experience required; 3 years Nursing leadership experience required. Other: Manager will have the following skills:

• 1) Well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• 2) Well-developed writing skills sufficient to design comprehensive and concise reports and proposals.
• 3) Skill in developing and effectively delivering oral presentations.
• 4) Skills to successfully direct the operations of multiple functioning areas.
• 5) Skill to develop and implement departmental operating budget.
• 6) General knowledge of data processing functions/software.
• 7) Skill in effectively applying coaching/ counseling techniques in the resolution of staff conflict.
• 8) Skill in identifying and recommending training needs of staff.

Knowledge of the skill to direct all activities of the center, to include a) directing the development and implementation of quality control procedures, b) directing a multidisciplinary team, and c) overseeing the development implementation, and promotion of new programs.
