Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist the Director of Pharmacy, manage unit dose operations, and monitor IV room and OR/ICU satellite activities.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, 3 years hospital pharmacy experience, and Georgia pharmacist licensure. Weekend/holiday coverage may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Pharmacy in ensuring the hospital pharmacy provides superior services and complies with all laws, accreditation, and certification requirements.
• Oversees daily unit dose operations and all IV room and OR/ICU satellite activities.
• Manages pharmacy staff including scheduling, performance evaluation, and improvement.
• Performs duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed.

Required Hours: Monday-Friday, day shift, some weekend / holiday / evenings / nights based on dept needs.

Responsibilities:

Assists the Director of Pharmacy in ensuring that the pharmacy provides superior services, exceeds all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and follows all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the hospital for the storage and preparation of pharmaceuticals. Ensures that patient care remains uninterrupted, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Responsible for the management of pharmacy staff, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and improvement. Oversees and monitors all daily unit dose operations and all daily IV room and OR/ICU Satellite activities. Performs all duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited an ACPE school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience Required
• Previous experience and/or training in the general use of pharmacy computer systems Required
• Management experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHARM-R - Registered Pharmacist Licensed as a registered pharmacist in State of Georgia. Upon Hire Required
