Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Manager of Pharmacy Operations in Atlanta, GA. This role supports 24/7 patient care, oversees unit dose, IV room, and satellite activities, and leads the pharmacy team to ensure compliance with all policies and standards.

The position requires a ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD or BPharm) and at least 3 years in hospital pharmacy, with preferred management experience. Monday–Friday with some weekend/holiday coverage; full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy.
• 3 years hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Pharmacy to ensure pharmacy services meet legal, accreditation, and hospital standards.
• Oversee daily unit dose operations, IV room, and OR/ICU satellite activities; ensure uninterrupted patient care.
• Manage pharmacy staff, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and improvement; perform staff pharmacist duties as needed.

Required Hours: Monday-Friday, day shift, some weekend / holiday / evenings / nights based on dept needs.

Responsibilities:

Assists the Director of Pharmacy in ensuring that the pharmacy provides superior services, exceeds all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and follows all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the hospital for the storage and preparation of pharmaceuticals. Ensures that patient care remains uninterrupted, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Responsible for the management of pharmacy staff, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and improvement. Oversees and monitors all daily unit dose operations and all daily IV room and OR/ICU Satellite activities. Performs all duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited an ACPE school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience Required
• Previous experience and/or training in the general use of pharmacy computer systems Required
• Management experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHARM-R - Registered Pharmacist Licensed as a registered pharmacist in State of Georgia. Upon Hire Required
